# Privacy Policy for Birthday Spiral

Birthday Spiral is developed and operated by the owner of this website (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Birthday Spiral mobile application (the “App”).

Birthday Spiral is designed to keep family information private. Names, birthdays, custom moments, and preferences are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us.

## 1. Information you enter into the App

You may enter information such as:

- a child’s name;
- a child’s birthday;
- custom days, holidays, school events, and date ranges;
- an emoji or icon associated with an event;
- theme, language, display, and other App preferences.

This information is stored locally on your device. It is shared only between the main App and the Birthday Spiral widget through Apple’s App Group technology so that the widget can display your selected countdown.

We do not receive, upload, or have access to this family information. Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, Apple may include locally stored App data in a device backup. Any such backup is managed by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

## 2. Premium purchases and subscriptions

Birthday Spiral offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your name, payment card number, bank details, or Apple Account password.

We use RevenueCat to provide subscription functionality, validate purchases, determine whether Premium is active, and restore purchases. When the App connects to RevenueCat, RevenueCat may process:

- an automatically generated anonymous App User ID;
- purchase and subscription history;
- transaction or receipt information provided by Apple;
- subscription status and entitlement information; and
- technical request information needed to provide and secure the service, such as device, App, operating-system, and network information.

The App does not create user accounts and does not send names, birthdays, custom moments, or other family information to RevenueCat. RevenueCat’s anonymous identifier is not created from a child’s name or other information entered into Birthday Spiral.

## 3. Notifications

If you give permission, Birthday Spiral may schedule a local notification reminding you that a free trial is approaching its end. The notification is scheduled and stored on your device. We do not operate a push-notification server and do not receive your notification content or permission status.

You can change notification permission at any time in your device’s Settings app.

## 4. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Birthday Spiral:

- does not display third-party advertising;
- does not use advertising identifiers;
- does not sell or rent personal information;
- does not use personal information for targeted advertising; and
- does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We do not currently use a separate analytics or crash-reporting service. RevenueCat provides subscription-related reporting based on anonymous identifiers and purchase information, as described above.

## 5. How and why information is processed

Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis, information is processed for the following purposes:

- **Providing the App and Premium features:** to perform our agreement with you and provide the functionality you request.
- **Purchase validation and fraud prevention:** for our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable subscription service.
- **Legal compliance:** where processing or retention is necessary to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, or other legal obligations.
- **Local notifications:** with your permission, which you may withdraw at any time through device settings.

## 6. Data retention and deletion

Family information stored locally remains on your device until you delete individual children or custom moments, reset the relevant App data, or delete the App. Deleting the App removes its locally stored information from the device, subject to any device backups controlled by Apple.

Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase records and related technical information for as long as necessary to provide subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Their respective privacy policies explain their retention practices in more detail.

If you contact us about a privacy request relating to RevenueCat data, we will take reasonable steps to assist you. Because Birthday Spiral does not use accounts and RevenueCat uses an anonymous App User ID, we may need additional technical information to locate the relevant record.

## 7. Children’s privacy

Birthday Spiral is a family tool intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. The App does not require a child to create an account or submit information to us.

Names and birthdays entered by a parent or guardian remain on the device and are not transmitted to us or RevenueCat. Parents and guardians should only enter information they are authorised to use and should supervise a child’s use of the App.

We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through our servers. If you believe that information about a child has been transmitted to us in error, please contact us using the details below.

## 8. Sharing of information

We do not share the family information entered into the App because we do not receive it. Subscription-related information is processed only by service providers needed to offer Premium features, principally Apple and RevenueCat, as described in this policy.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent fraud, or defend legal rights.

## 9. International data transfers

Apple and RevenueCat may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, they use recognised safeguards for international transfers, as described in their respective privacy policies.

## 10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and the right to withdraw consent.

Most family information can be managed directly in the App because it remains on your device. For subscription-related privacy requests, contact us using the details below. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

These rights may be subject to legal limitations, including situations where information must be retained to meet legal or financial obligations.

## 11. Security

Birthday Spiral minimises data collection by keeping family information on your device. Subscription communications with Apple and RevenueCat use the security protections provided by their platforms and services. However, no device, storage system, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting access to your device, for example by using a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

## 12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide additional notice where reasonably possible or legally required.
